The first VERA Verification Statement granted by the Danish Minister of the Environment

CEO Morten Toft from BioCover A/S is the first technology manufacturer to receive a VERA Verification Statement, which improves access to the international market for agro environmental technologies.

The Danish Minister of the Environment, Ms. Ida Auken, has granted the first VERA Verification Statement to CEO Morten Toft from BioCover A/S, who has developed the technology SyreN which reduces the emission of ammonia during application of manure.

It is exiting when a technology is beneficial for the environment, the farmers and the economy of the companies. It is green growth, which is important for a green transition, said Ida Auken.

A VERA Verification Statement provides CEO Morten Toft and other technology manufacturers access to new markets

- It is a huge advantage only having to test your technology one time. A standard question from our customers is whether we can document the environmental efficiency of the technology, and the VERA Verification Statement is the best proof of our credibility. It shows that it is true when we say that our technology can diminish the emissions of ammonia by one half during application of manure, says Morten Toft, CEO BioCover A/S.

Head of the VERA Secretariat, Peter Engel, is looking forward to even more technologies obtaining the international recognition that a VERA Verification Statement provides.

- The issuing of the first VERA Verification Statement is a significant milestone for the VERA collaboration. At the same time it is signalling the great activity and interest we are experiencing with VERA. We are expecting to issue 4-5 Verification Statements this year, and even more next year, says Peter Engel.

Peter Engel has experienced an increased interest in receiving a VERA Verification Statement from other countries:

- Besides the Danish technology manufacturers, we also get more and more inquiries from foreign manufacturers, and with the involvement of France and Belgium, in our coming up developing activities the perspectives are even broader for both the export of environmental technologies, but in particular for the farmers, who will gain access to an even larger supply of verified environmental technologies.
