In cooperation with the Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO) a day of action on the testing of cattle floors took place in Utrecht on 26 September 2017. Approx. 30 representatives of Dutch manufacturers of cattle floors and test laboratories attended the meeting.
The morning focussed on the national Dutch regulations and on the approval procedure for the listing of floors on the RAV list.
In the afternoon, the idea and structure of VERA and its new verification process according to the “General VERA Guidelines” was presented to the interested audience. Afterwards, Julio Mosquera being a Dutch representative in the international VERA expert commission “Housing systems” explained the amendments of the revised VERA test protocol and their impacts on the testing of cattle floors. The clearer new verification structure and the defined conditions for tests in naturally ventilated animal houses found great acceptance. The meeting offered the opportunity to discuss details and to further explain and clarify some issues.
